Thanks for the wishes everyone, I had a quiet birthday, was on vacation. Just got home today. Keith emailed me this posting. Thanks again, it's nice to be thought of. No birthday cake for me anymore.... Had barriatric surgery on July 16th. I've lost 25 pounds so far and am hoping to get off some of my meds soon.

Sterling, congrats on the weight loss. My SIL had a lap band kind done and has lost over 65 lbs in 2 1/2 months. It was a blessing expecially since he had a disk blow out on him three weeks ago. He's healing much faster.

My insurance wouldn't of paid for it until I went through the program for 6 mths.

My insurance wouldn't of paid for it until I went through the program for 6 mths. Yes he had to go to consulting sessions and a philologist for a while beforehand and for a time period afterwords. He had to loose some weight first to show he was serious. The program he went to really seemed to try to make sure you are dedicated to doing it right. His cost was $20,000. From what I have seen so far it was worth every penny of that. He paid cash for his out of pocket. They aren't happy he's lost so much so fast but he just can't eat much. Hopefully it will level out soon. He looks sooooooo good. His biggest problem is drinking enough water.

;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D Lots of ((((((HUGS)))))) Jackie. I'm pleased everything is OK with you. Drop in from time to time so we can keep tabs on you I do drop in now and then, but just look around and see how things are going. My family keeps me so busy sometimes that before I know it the day is over and I still haven't had time to do what I wanted to do. Dad is still living here as well as my son and grandson (adhd), then theres the baby sitting for the 2 year old on my days off. Believe it or not I'm not complaining because I love having all of them around. I'm most happy when my table is filled with family.

That is a blessing Sterling.
Your a lucky human.
Having Family close is wonderful.
I have come to those strange years when my children now call me more than they have time to visit. I hate it.
They are young with jobs and friends their own age that keep them busy. I miss the days when my oldest son would call and say mom got to come to the house tonight I need to lay in your lap and have you scratch my back.
Or the youngest son would call and say mom I am coming home can you make me smoked sausage cabbage and some fried taters?
I miss the days when my daughter was not quite so independent and would call me before she dreamed of buying a new car.
But they do grow up. So count your blessings sterling. I hope one day I have a grandchild too to spoil.
I do have a trip coming up with my kids though and I plan to enjoy every minute of it.
