Order them home for a family get together.... I do, family is important. And grandchildren are so important. Demand your fair share of time... spoil them rotten and then hand them back. Threatening them that you'll spend their inheritance usually works.

I try chips. No grandchildren in the family yet.
My youngest son is a third year Orthopedic Surgeon Resident . That keeps him hopping. And his practice takes care of a major US sports team. Sports is his thing. I have been hearing but mom its football or some other season his entire life and now it looks like I will be hearing it the rest of my life.
My daughter is a pharmacist at a large hospital and they keep her hopping too. Always some crisis at the pharmacy. Heprin, infections from non sterile IV's . And she and hubby like to hike and camp in their down time .
I do see my oldest son a teacher a good bit. He brings in milk crates full of home work to get me to help grade it and then wants his back scratched.
I shouldn't complain I guess. They call all the time.
And we reap what we sew. I remember a time when I was their ages I didn't pay my parents their due much either. I called. But phone calls can't replace actual face to face time and now I do feel as if I shorted my own parents time as well.
What goes around comes around and I am making up for that time with my own parents now.
