Wanna see what a 7 month old Blue Healer/Australian Shepherd/Catahoula looks like? Poor thing was bit on her left side of the face by a copperhead this evening. $100.00 later, she is resting well.

Poor doggie looks like she's about to cry. Hope she has a full recovery. Looks like she is worth the $100 (especially the Australian bit of her)

Well there's a lot of 'Heeler' in her... God help the snake next time around.

Poor doggie. She is so cute I have heard more people in my area having to take there dogs to the vet because of snake bites. My dogs weight 10 lb and less, I don't know if they would survive if they were bitten.

Thanks guys. Macie is back to the devil-dog she normally is. Last night she was slamming herself against the window outside eating June-bugs. I'll take a picture of her to show the difference. But tonight I'm buying a new truck so I'll be busy.

Wooohooo! A new truck!!! What kind?
Oh, and eventually, Macie will become immune to snakes if she keeps it up... LOL

Benydryl , some cortisone which is available from vet supply stores and a antibiotic is all vets can do for copperhead bites.
So save yourself some money and stock up on the needed supplies and give them yourself.
My dogs get bit pretty often and after having wasted a lot of money at the vets I decided best to stock up myself.
Cliff , now the dog will be a copperhead terror , looking to get them whenever she can. You best get ready.

We poped a Benydryl down her before we left and the Vet said that was good. We only gave her 20 whatevers of Benydryl and the Vet wanted to give 20 whatevers per 10 lbs of dog so she was given another 60 whatevers. <grin>
Benydryl, anti-inflamitory, and pain meds is what she got. Good advise. I don't think she will go after them. She's been acting real sheepish so far. <grin>

She will act sheepish till she gets better cliff. Then watch out snakes .
But she will be more cautious from now on.
My dogs reguarly kill copperheads without getting bitten now. They learned the hard way how to avoid the bites.
I am glad she made it. Now you have a copper head enemy and that is good.
