There were so many, I remember playing jump rope, and pick up sticks, jacks, we played cowboys and indians, and dress up, I enjoyed the group games we played outside like red rover and simon says, and kick ball and the baseball games where they would let the girls play our family play cards and taught us many different games, Mom would play bingo for candy bars on rainy days, she would make the dough that Chips posted here and we would make clay ashtrays. I remember her saving egg shells and we would break them up and make mosaic pictures of them. We would gather up all our Barbie accessories and spend hours setting them up in the yard. On summer days we walked to the park to go swimming, packed up a lunch and made a day of it. Fall days we would rake leaves into a big pile then commence to jump into them until they had to be reraked. Winters we would again trek to the park to go ice skating, or we would build walls[forts] of snow, to hide behind and have snowball wars. [still can't drink hot cocco without thinking of winter]. We would drag a sled to the dikes or the hills so we could have a real exciting ride. And when spring came along we would sit around on the stoops enjoying the fresh air, or go fly a kite. We grew up in a housing complex for the lower income people, but we never knew we were less fortunate than other people, we were happy. There was a very large grassy area that we would hold our ball games in and fly our kites, everyone knew everyone else, and you couldn't get away with much without your parents finding out, so you pretty much towed the line.
Sorry there I go running off with mouth again. So my favorite game was all of them.

Thanks Sterling... you just about listed everything I would have said.
There's always been a bit of an explorer in me and I spent hours walking with my faithful dog Pete searching out undiscovered parts of the city.
There was a brook (creek) that run through the local park and I used to spend hours down there building dams or following the creek for miles until it emptied into the river.
Always made it home in time for a hearty tea though.

I hit my brother over the head with a linclon jucie bottle when I was about 8-9, don't know why I did it, I just did. It was a gallon glass jug and that thing shattered to pieces on his hard head, boy did he scream. Of course Dad walked in at just that moment and there was Rog dancing around screaming [like it hurt]. I got the beating of my life for that one. Yeah I deserved the beating, but I will never forget him dancing around screaming. I could of killed him all on a whim. I do get the most supid urges sometimes.
