Who is your favorite chef(s)?
One of mine is Paula Deen on the Foodnetwork. She uses ingredients that are 'normal', affordable and she is down to earth.
Also, How many cookbooks does one own? I know I have over 20 cookbooks!

Cookbooks: There's 34 in the kitchen and 7 in the office.
Both the wife and I cook and we both love to experiment.
I don't have a favorite Chef but my wife loves to watch Jamie Oliver. (Pommy Twit)

My favorite Chef is my mum.
No one can make a roast lamb dinner or an apricot pie like she can.

Jamie Oliver is such a good chef as he is passionate about food. But he uses ingredients that readily available.
He has also been in the news over here recently for trying to improve the school dinners for children. He has been campaigning govt.
He went into schools and trialled healthier, tastier meals and the teachers noticed that the childrens behaviour improved and so did their concentration. At present the kids get fed processed, packaged food because its cheap. The schools have to provide meals for kids, the budget being 37pence per child.

Are the Poms still really doing that Sharon? Do they still get their free bottle of milk everyday as well?
I would have thought after all these years that would have changed by now.
Most of our schools have canteens where the kids can get a fairly healthy lunch but most Aussies sit down at night with the family to have their main meal.

In my daughters school they dont get any milk, free or otherwise.
It's a sad fact that most kids have only a cooked lunch at school. If they do eat anything hot at home its normally pre packaged microwaveable processed food.
