Still fit to serve! 77-year-old veteran beats young opponents in push-up contest and barely breaks a sweat

The unidentified white-haired man is seen pumping iron on paving slabs in the Ukrainian city of Dnipropetrovsk. One by one his red-faced opponents give up, until he is one of the few still going strong. Onlookers are heard clapping and cheering in the background as he victoriously gets up from the floor. His impressed contenders then swoop in to congratulate him and shake his hand. The push-up contest was part of a larger initiative paying tribute to the soldiers who took part in the Second World War. In total, participants performed 34,032 press-ups on the Festival Pier in Dnipropetrovsk, representing the number of hours the war lasted. The event took place on May 9, the date Germany surrendered to the Soviet Union in 1945 which is now marked annually in Russia and Ukraine as Victory Day. Read More:
