en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IshtarThe Claim The Truth Although similar to Easter Ishtar is pronounced I-S-Tar or I SH Tar not Easter. Ishtar (pronounced /ˈɪʃtɑːr/; Transliteration: DIŠTAR; Akkadian: ?? DINGIR INANNA; Sumerian ) is the East Semitic Akkadian, Assyrian and Babylonian goddess of fertility, love, war, and sex.[1] She is the counterpart to the Sumerian Inanna, and is the cognate for the Northwest Semitic Aramean goddess Astarte. Ishtar was the goddess of love, war, fertility, and sexuality. Besides the lions on her gate, her symbol is an eight-pointed star. No Bunnies and Eggs to be seen. Eggs were a Pagan symbol of New Life, European Pagan Symbol though not from Samaria or Babylon. Christians use the Egg as a symbol of New life i.e. Jesus new life after his resurrection Constantine may have converted the Romans to Christianity but since the Romans did not worship Ishtar who was a Samarian/Babylonian god not a Roman one. And finally the Pagan ceremony was about Fertility and bout the new "life" which comes in spring, not about sex at all. Winter was seen as death and Spring the returning of life to the world. None of this has anything to do with any of the Samarian/Babylonian gods let alone Ishtar, or Istar if pronounced properly.
