I love these songs from my youth. They were good songs with sweet melodies and great lyrics which could be understood when they were being sung. The marvelous thing about most of them is, unlilke me, they don't seem to age.
One of my all times favourites from this era was from Bobby Goldsboro with Honey.
The passion with which it is sung and the moving words have often brought me close to tears. I tend to believe there is more to this one than initially meets the eye and that the song writer suffered some tragic loss during his life.

i do too chips ....and honey is one of my favorites too. i cant listen to some of the things that pass for music these days. do you think our parents felt the same way? I like to listen to the music of my youth...it takes me back to a simpler time , if only for awhile. thank God for you tube.

I can't take to the music of the 50's or 60's. Give me the 80's any day.
