Fire destroys Sydney chocolate factory
January 2, 2009 - 5:44AM
A Sydney chocolate factory has been destroyed by fire for the second time in five years.
Emergency crews were called to the two-storey factory in Meeks Road in Marrickville at about 11pm (AEDT) on Thursday.
More than 50 firefighters worked to combat the blaze, bringing it under control by 5.30am (AEDT) on Friday, a NSW Fire Brigade spokesman said.
A wall of the factory bordering an electricity substation collapsed, leading to the loss of power to some 35,000 homes and businesses in the city's inner west.
More than 20 residents from Meeks Road were evacuated from their homes at the height of the fire, but all have been allowed to return and an Energy Australia spokesman said all power services have been restored.
Police are investigating the cause of the fire.
The same factory was destroyed by fire in July 2004, in an incident costing millions of dollars.

I can hear EPI's weeping from here. If you like Epi I can give you the Adress of the Cherry ripe factory in Melbourne, if you get in your car you can drive there in about 8 hours.
