Oh yes....except for one thing.
"Cliff" and "sheltered" should not be used in the same sentence unless the subject in question is either "bivouac" or "dogs".

I've sent 2 emails to the property owners asking to clarify the rule. Can flags be flown at certain days of the year such as Flag Day, Memmorial Day, Veterans Day, 4th Of July? I have not heard back from them and the Washington Housing Dept. wants me to call them as soon as I get a reponse from them. They may file a complaint. I talked to the manager yesterday and asked flying them at certain times of the year and she will be speaking to the owners Friday. Wants me to see her then to find out. My elderly neighbor lady is so mad she's looking for a new place. I told the manager this and she seemed real surprised. It could be because she is Russian she just dosen't get it. I don't know. The maintence people told me that the owners want to drive through here and and see every place looking identical! Nice world that is.

Just got off the phone with the main office of the property owners. This flag ban is because of one person making a complaint about flags. They wouldn't tell me who or why or what flag etc. but we have alot of different nationalities here and they said that to be fair they had to say no flags for everyone. I say this is America and that's supposed to be the only flag flown. They say no and I may call the Housing Authority tommorro to get the law explained to me so I can tell others here why they can no longer fly their flags. I cannot afford a legal battle and I don't want to be put on a black list here but I want to know if what they are doing is legal. They said it is. I have doubts. I need to find a lawyer to get the answers. The Fair Housing laws should not come into play when it means the US flag. If a Mexican or Russian objects to the US flag then they should not be in this country. I have a female friend in the country of Georgia that I have been IM ing back and forth with for a few years now. She's in college there and I sent her a message asking if her and her family were alright or if the Russian troops were near her home. I haven't heard back from her, which is not normal. I hope they are ok and I would bet she would give anything to be in this country right now. Yea, this flag thing is very important.

No matter how far you decide to take this or when you feel the need to back off,..... you're a good man. Rob.

Good luck to you in your fight Rob.
One thing though I am assuming those are income adjusted subsidized apartments from what I have read the housing authorities won't back down on stuff like this.
There are pros and cons to the issue for the people that run subsidized housing. For instance if the American flag is being flown then somebody will get the idea to fly the confederate flag and then somebody will be insulted by the confederate flag.
Just food for thought Rob.
I mean you can have anything made up on a flag. That is why some of those places do that. On the other hand I know some disabled and elderly that live in subsidized housing and they must allow who has the best looking little patch of yard contests.
Most of them have 5x5 patches of yard and they pack as much into those 5x5's as possible. Trellis 's with veggies growing on them. Flowers and flags . They keep them neat and they look great.
So perhaps if you run into that where your at , you can find another complex to move to that will allow some expression of individuality. At any rate good luck .

Hey thanks Cliff-that's mighty nice to hear. Because I know longer work, I have plenty of time on my hands and am looking to maybe donate some free time helping other people. I was considering doing a big brother type thing and just taking a few kids to the beach or museums etc. There is a large population of minors in this area that are living below the poverty level and some of their folks have lost them due to drug use. I'd love to see some kids smile after going through some of the chaos their parents have put them through. It's really nice when I go to the coast to see my grandaughter, and her older brother Scottie calls me grampa too. I love it and he's such a good boy and a great big brother. Poor boy is surrounded by "girls" yuk!-poor kid-lol So' when I' was there, Scottie and I let the girls go to sleep and me and him stayed up all night playing child friendly video games. He loved having a guy to play with for a change. Another year or so and grampa's taking everyone to Disneyland. My daughter and my grandsons live about 50 miles from the park, so we will all have a couple of great days there and all the kids can meet one another!. If there's one thing I have learned from losing my son so unexpectedly is to not put off spending time with your kids and family. They may not be there tomorro and tomorro is not promised to anyone. Tell them you love them and don't be afraid to give your grown kids a kiss and a hug. Those little things can make the difference in the mind of a child and can really influence the direction and choices they make as they grow. When I look back now, there was alot of really good life lessons my mother taught me and they stuck with me. Honesty, integrity, being polite and courteous etc. Those things didn't seem so important then but having had that instilled in me made me a better person. And probably kept me out of trouble with the law. I'd like to donate my time to help young people and maybe be a big brother to a few. God knows I have plenty of free time to do it. May as well. There is alot of kids needing help and direction in this area. Alot of people have lost their kids from bad descision making. Maybe I can help.
