Here's the recipe:
Three sticks of butter ( 3/4 of a pound ) the real thing, (but if you want to cut calories and fat substitute a couple of sticks of margarine)
1 8 oz. package of philly cream cheese, softened
6 large eggs
three cups sugar
three cups all purpose flour
vanilla to taste (don't be shy, the more the better)
pinch of salt
1 teaspoon baking pownder
Preheat oven to 325 degrees
In a large bowl (this makes a lot of batter) beat butter and cream cheese together until smooth. Add sugar and beat until fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, mixing thouroughly after each addition. Sift flour, baking powder, and salt together and pour into batter all at once. Beat until smooth. Batter should be thick and creamy, nearly the consistancy of whipped butter.
Pour into greased and floured tube pan (I use the spray on stuff by Pam, it's much neater). Do not overfill pan. I usually have enough batter to fill one bundt cake pan and a loaf pan. (one to keep, one to share) Bake for approximatley 1 hour. After 45 minutes, check for doneness by inserting a tootpick into the center of the cake. When the toothpick comes out clean, it's done.

Don't tell me you Canucks are still on imperial measurements as well? We've just got the Poms moving in the right direction so I suppose we'll have to start teaching the Yanks and Canucks how to go metric as well. Listen... if the Kiwi's can do it.... anyone can. Nice recipe as well Nutmeg but at least two of us on the forum are diabetics. Zonked will have to have my share. LOL... Look at all my racist comments.... Yanks, Poms, Canucks, Kiwis...... I kill myself.

Oh stevia is a plant.. If you've ever tasted stevia, you know it's extremely sweet. In fact, this remarkable noncaloric herb, native to Paraguay, has been used as a sweetener and flavor enhancer for centuries. But this innocuous-looking plant has also been a focal point of intrigue in the United States in recent years because of actions by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. The subject of searches and seizures, trade complaints and embargoes on importation, stevia has been handled at times by the FDA as if it were an illegal drug.
Since the passage of the Dietary Supplement Health and Education Act (DSHEA), stevia can be sold legally in the United States, but only as a "dietary supplement." Even so, it can be found in many forms in most health-food stores, and is also incorporated into drinks, teas and other items (all labeled as "dietary supplements"). It cannot, however, be called a "sweetener" or even referred to as "sweet."
We have it here available in Canada in most health food stores.. its MUCH healthier than that cancer causing ASPARTAME.. crap.. Its sold in packets.. liquid or like sugar.

How interesting , I must check the health food shops here. Sounds like a lot of money involved in the US doesnt it trying to stop it being marketed widely?
