INGREDIENTS: 1 (10.75 ounce) can condensed tomato soup 1 onion, chopped 3 cloves garlic, minced 1 tablespoon brown sugar 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce 2 tablespoons soy sauce 2 pounds pork spareribs 1 teaspoon cornstarch (optional) 1/4 cup cold water (optional)
DIRECTIONS: Place ribs in a large stock pot, and cover with water.
Bring to a boil, and cook for 15 minutes.
In a mixing bowl, mix together soup, onion, garlic, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, and soy sauce. Remove ribs from water, and transfer to a slow cooker. Pour sauce over ribs.
Cover, and cook on Low for 6 to 8 hours, or until ribs are tender.
If sauce is too thin when cooking time is done, drain sauce from ribs, and pour into a sauce pan. Combine 1 teaspoon cornstarch with a small amount of cold water, stir into sauce, and bring sauce to boil. Cook until sauce has reached desired thickness.

I've cooked for more years than I care to remember and have always been willing to try new methods.
I must confess.... I wasn't very keen on using tomato soup but I did follow this recipe but only slow cooked the spare ribs for 4 1/2 hours.
Never... in the whole of my life have I had meat more tender than this was. It really did melt in the mouth.
The spare ribs were served with a cheesy potato bake.
Well worth a try.

Spare Ribs are so yummy. Now that I can make them be sure I will try this recipe. [#2 sons family wouldn't eat them--#3 sons will] I had baked chicken legs for the first time in about 8 years tonight, they would only eat boneless, skinless chicken breast... which is fine but I missed my chicken legs.

(Sigh) That doesn't work Epi.
My son could sole your shoes with the steaks he cooks and they'd never wear out. Plus he only has one cooking speed.... 'Full on'.

Same for me, actually my daughter-in-law did most of the cooking because they didn't like to eat what we did. So it was you cook their your kids anyway.. I made spaghetti sauce for the first time in years today I used tomatoes from my garden, green peppers too. We even sauteed mushrooms to put in it.
