Drones are the new silent killing machine, and it takes the blood and suffering out of the hands of it's user. It makes killing the guilty and the not guilty, way too easy, and people are finally starting to wake up, and are asking the government and our President about the use of these war toys. When we first started using these, around 1990, it sounded pretty good. To be able to take out the enemy with a precision strike and not risk any of our soldiers sounded great. But, now, it seems we may be abusing these machines, and we know for sure; alot of not guilty, totally innocent people, are being killed. Not just those around a guilty person, but people that have done nothing are being killed by accident.
Well, that's wierd. As I'm writing this, Anderson Cooper is talking about this same thing on CNN. Good timing. Yes, people want answers. We have never been a country that kills people for nothing. We have always tried to be alot more sure of our information before launching an attach on someone or some place.
But, the President loves drones and he wants more, and he wants the final say on who gets one of these coming at them. Him and his main generals are treating these like a video game! I can see how this can happen. It's so easy to target someone and if you get it wrong, o well, casulty of war right?
Right now there is alot of talk about these things. The people in charge of launching these need alot better training and/or they need proof positive, in writing, and double then triple checked by numerous sources, that they have a bad guy some place before letting one of these things loose on a house. We are killing innocent people and it has to stop, or there may be alot of angry Americans taking to the streets, very soon.
I can't believe Obama, who's supposed to be a dove, would get behind the whole drone thing. We know he loves high tech gadgets, but these are killing machines, not video games. They may be controlled with Playstation type hand controls, but the end result is much different then the end result of playing Call Of Duty. Could it be that our President has become really comfortable with drones like you or I would get comfortable playing a video game? Can it be that easy to take yourself out of the blood and guts reality and simply tell yourself your in a game instead? For those that are running these things, I can see where it would make it alot easier to deal with the killings if you tell yourself it's just a game. Maybe these drones should have a mic attached, so the operator can listen to all the screams of women and kids as their being slaughtered by mistake!
Yesterday, the White House came out with a drone report that said, it was legal for our governmnet to launch a drone against any American citizen in a foreign that is SUSPECTED of being a terrorist. This is so wrong. Now, we are allowing those in charge to act as judge, jury, and executioner against our own people with no courts or hearings to prove their guilt! And Obama signed off on this. How the hell can he do that? The man is a constitutional major. He knows the laws inside ourt as well as the constitution. He says it's ok to kill people we simply SUSPECT of being terrorist? NO NO NO!! Wrong-since when do we give the White House cart blanche to kill anyone under suspicion? (This all started when Bush started sticking people in some hell-hole prison in Cuba, with no courts or rights. The whole idea is based not on solid facts, but heresay and suspicion. How many of those guys are innocent. If one is, then how many others?)
I hope they wound an innocent person from another country, or this one, and they get sued to pieces. Only problem is now they made up a law to protect themselves from any lawsuit. This can't be America. This sounds like Nazi Germany. The ACLU is challenging this law now. It can't stand. It must not be made legal or we are all in a lot of trouble.
If our goverment gives themself the right to target people with no proof or trials, then it's only a matter of time before the local law enforement gives themself the same right. And, they want people to give up their guns, and they come up with this? Someone in Washington must be getting high and/or very, very paranoid.
Drones make killing people way too convient and painless-For the operator! We are making many many new terrorists with this cold blooded robot war. I'm all for stopping the Taliban, but we don't kill innocent people. When that happens-we are our own enemy.
