This dedication is made to my dear Sister in the Lord, D. Lavern Wiggins, who passed from this life into Eternal Life with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ - only a few minutes ago. As much as I already miss you, Lavern, I envy the place you are in and await the day we are reunited with all our Brothers and Sisters, with God Almighty in Heaven. Rest In Peace, My Sister, My Friend.

Notes: Lavern was a Breast Cancer survivor who had two single mastectomies - five years apart, as opposed to one double-mastectomy surgery - and lived many years beyond those surgeries.
Two years ago, Lavern was diagnosed with a lump of cancerous cells balled up into a fist-size mass, surrounding the aorta leading directly to her heart - in her chest. We, her church family, commenced to praying.
The team of doctors and surgeons who attended Lavern said they'd never seen witness of such love and caring from any group of people, like Lavern received from our church body. But we loved her, she was our Sister - we love her still... she remains our family. But Lavern herself seemed to lose the will to live, growing weaker by the day.
Since May, Lavern has been in the hospital on a respirator. About five weeks ago, they moved her from the hospital to a nursing home, because of her extensive 24-hour care... and then back to the hospital when she came down with pneumonia - again.
Two weeks later, Lavern had regained her will and her tenacity for life. Last week, she came home, OFF the ventilator, standing, walking, sitting... freely. But after months of no nourishment (she never had an appetite), she wasted to nothing and was unable to eat at all.
Yesterday morning, she was admitted back into the same hospital with a fluid buildup around her heart. Tonight, we received a call that she had stopped breathing - CPR was not doing any good at all. At approximately 10:30 p.m. on November 8, 2009, the doctors called her death.
