Hello! It's good to be back. I've been reading some of the more recent posts made in AGV, and from what I've read I think I may enjoy some of the discussions here. As Chips (my unconventional Grandfather) said, I'm a bit older now. I am now in my second year of university studying to be a teacher at Flinders University, I even have my first teaching practical coming up I look forward to hearing everyones' views on world issues in addition to sharing my own, I'm especially looking forward to checking out the Comedy Archives. And Epi... There is NO ONE who can control him :S

I could offer you a few tips though. Some of those tips revolve around scotch and more scotch.

Very wise advice, he does like his scotch doesn't he? Though I'd rather keep my money than spend it accommodating to others' bad habits.

Welcome Adam . So good to have you. Heaven knows we elders can use some of the vibrancy of youth around here. A bit of advice on your upcoming practicals. (if they are what I think they are) Here in the US (at my sons university at least) they do a lot of video taping of student teachers. The video taping is done for many reasons not the least of which is so they can be critiqued. My oldest son a teacher was horrified by his student teacher videos back in the day.................. Let me see them I'd request. ............. Mom , no . They are horrible he'd say. LOL . When I got to see them to say the least they weren't so bad. Sure he was boring,............... Kids were nodding off in the corners. ................ But the main thing is he steadily improved and from what his peers tell me is now considered a excellent teacher. So my advice Adam for practicals . Is to prepare. Have fun and if your not pleased with your first efforts never fear. Like your grandfather chips I am sure your made of sturdy stock. The kind with a never quit attitude. Just climb back on that horse till you have it mastered. And when you have a minute let us old folks know how its going. Hello! It's good to be back. Thank you very much for the advice Peach. It sounds like someone in the US had a good idea; video taping student teachers is an excellent way to reflect on one's progress. The only problem is I get very nervous when it comes to video/voice recording :S Fortunately (for me at least), my practicum will not be recorded, except in memory. wvpeach wrote:As for spelling Epi, I am fairly good with my spelling, however I had to look up the word addendum before replying. epi wrote:

Second year uni - you must be about the same age as BG (my son) he'll be 20 in June.

Yes he is about the same age Willow, as Adam will be 20 in July, and he is getting old, as he certainly makes me feel old with him being that age. But Cody, my 4 year old nephew certainly makes up for it and makes me feel young lol
