What was the biggest meal you have ever cooked? and for what occasion was the meal for? (i know i will probably get trumped by some of the moms here lol but im just curious) The biggest meal i have ever cooked was for 24 people for christmas 3 years ago.. I was up for 24 hours straight.. but my bf helped me out.. i made 2 birds (i hate making birds) 4 cakes 3 big aluminum trays of yams 60 cornbread muffins 30 biscuits 2 huge salads 5 trays baked ziti 3 trays of stuffing (did i make it from scratch? heck no.. stove top was my best friend that year lol) 3 loaves of garlic bread 3 gallons of kool aid my mom brought potato salad, collard greens, mac and cheese, my stepdads arroz con gandules, candied yams, ham cranberry sauce, soda, beer, and more kool aid. when my mom got there she was like "alisha here are your gifts, try this on, now get out of the kitchen" lol it was almost as if she felt that i was overwhelmed and was coming to my rescue but all in all, everyone except my bf, my brother, mom, stepdad, and great-grandmother was surprised that i pulled off a dinner that big by myself. my mom was laid back about it when she told me good job, but i found out when we went to virginia the summer after that she told everybody that i cooked a big dinner that christmas..

Do you still cook for Christmas dinner Willow? We gave that up years ago... too damned hot normally to enjoy a hot meal. We get a ham on the bone, joints of roast beef, roast pork, a cold turkey, Pork Pie, Seafood... lots of salads and hoe into it.

Yes we still cook but almost always in the webber so we arent heating up the house. My Dad is very fond of a hot Christmas dinner but we have seafood for entree then turkey or pork for main - usually a rolled turkey breast rather than a whole bird and then plum pudding for dessert. I like to make a Christmas icecream cake, thats nice. Oh and there are always lollies and nuts on the table and LOTS of champagne, wine and sparkling burgundy with the plum pudding. Goodnes, I feel stuffed just thinking about it!!
