I had a laugh too. We just take it for granted that everyone knows what we are talking about.
Have you ever tried grilling or BBQing fritz?

When we had the shop and provided full cooked breakfasts... they consisted of;
2 eggs 2 rashers of bacon 2 mushrooms 2 slices of fried fritz 1/2 grilled tomato 2 rounds of toast
bottomless cup of coffee
All for $4.95.
I'd have used black pudding in the place of fritz but it's not made the same way here as it is in the UK. Some health fanatic removed all the chunks of white fat that are supposed to be in there.

So maybe your Fritz is like our SPAM only put in a meat casing?? As hot dog's? Spam is a lunchen meat here in a can. eat it cold or hot. Sliceable. What does it taste like? Spam is very salty.

Yup!! Rasher is a slice.
We have spam over here Laura and no, fritz doesn't taste like that and it's certainly not as salty and the texture of spam is slightly softer than fritz.
Just to confuse you further... there are two kinds of fritz as well.... Plastic Fritz, shaped as a sausage but wrapped in a plastic skin and Bung Fritz... that's the real stuff wrapped in animal membranes.
I had a quick look on the net for some pics and can't find any. When the local supermarket puts them on special I'll scan the pics so you can see what I'm talking about.

So I am trying to figure out what they may be like here in the States..Brats? Hot dogs? Those are put in animal casings here. What does it taste like? If you can think of something here in the States? How does your Daughter live without all the Aussie food? Or does she like the food here?
