The clip sees workers at the Punnathur Kotta Elephant Sanctuary in Kerala, India, scrubbing the animals' tusks, toes and thick skin clean as they lie on their sides in a shallow pool. Following their restorative therapy session, the elephants are led by chains to a food station where they are fed large balls of nutritious food. During this time they are bathed, massaged and fed a nutritive diet at specialist spas. Ingredients on the menu include rice, mung beans, mineral mixtures and vitamin tonics. Suma Lal, an elephant keeper based at the Punnathur Kotta Elephant Sanctuary, explained the importance of giving the animals a well-earned rest.
