We have taken it easy on CHIPS for far too long. I'm sure he would want us to make some comments in memory of his contributions to AGV and other forums
I came across a remote controlled esky yesterday and guess who I thought about?
Please feel free to add some of your memories of our wonderful friend.

Yes I think he would've loved that Esky, but what can I say about Chips? He was a good man, an honest man who always said what he really thought. Although we agreed on something (John Howard is a lying Rat Fink amongst other things) we didn't always agree on everything. But when we did disagree he always backed his arguments with facts, instead of insults. Chips was usually respectful of others even when he disagreed and thought he could be stubborn he would admit he was wrong if you found enough proof. Although we never met Chips was a friend of mine, a good man, and honest man and a good friend.

I haven't told anyone this, but a day or so after I heard he had died I saw a box on one of the table's in the break room at work. The side of it said "CHIPS" on it. At first I looked away thinking nothing. Then it occurred to me that maybe he got my prayers for him and was responding.

Chips was a man of strong opinions and I loved a bit of verbal repartee with him, I sincerely hope he is resting on a comfy cloud with a glass of his favourite Scotch and heaven forbid a cigarette .....
If he happens to be on the celestial interweb ... G'day you old bastard, I miss our lively discussions !! Put in a good word for me hey? And yes, I do think you're "up there" rather than "down there" because despite your best efforts to pretend otherwise you were an all round good fellow!
Cheers Willow

Chips was always respectful of everyone. I enjoyed bantering with him and miss him terribly! He was a kind man and sincere. He will be missed greatly but I am so glad I got to "meet" him on this board and it would have been great to meet him and his family in person but I never got the chance...still meeting him on this board was a lovely day because it made me feel I made a good friend for life! I always enjoyed reading his posts, he had a right to say what he wanted, as we all do! Now it is the living that have to learn to live without our loved ones....Chips (and his family) are in out hearts, and hoping their good memories and family/friends (us too) will help them through this rough time...

It is OK, Mrs. Chips, go ahead and cry and laugh at the good memories he was well known for, I am sure you can remember many of them. Perhaps one day, you can share with us some funny stuff he would do or say. Only if you want to....he sure was a real character (I mean that in a good way).

One of my favourite posts by CHIPS was one of his last posts. she's beautiful although it took you long enough jut remember every room in your home is now divided into two as far as bella is concerned one half is now the kitchen the other the bedroom good luck alex she will become your very best friend For years both Zonked and Chips, and then just Chips, sent me messages and made comments on posts about getting my son a dog. I'm so glad we got Bella, and I'm so glad Chips approved - even though I took so long to do it!

In 2007 we had to have our dogs Pepe and Boot put to sleep because of ill health. I said no more dogs its too upsetting when they die. I went overseas and I knew Paul would get another dog and he did and I now have Sissy thankfully. Susan in America has a dog called Bella who she gets great joy from as I am sure you will from your Bella.

Chips often talked about Sissy. How is she doing?

Sissy is fine. I know dogs have long memories but it is many months since Chips was at home but I can imagine her joyous reaction if he walked through the door.

Thought I would pop in and say hello. I do come on the Village fairly frequently and its nice to read all your comments. I miss Paul obviously but I wouldnt have wanted him to have lingered on as he was, he would have been so miserable.

My mum lingered for years and that was a hard thing to see.
