I am so p!$$ed off with Centrelink. I applied for carers payment and allowance and got letters of rejection but got excepted for a health care card, that is fine a little disappointing but I am fine with that. But I received a letter saying that my carers allowance has been cancelled because they don't have enough info to prove my identity. Well 1st of all I got rejected so I thought I wasn't receiving any payments, and 2nd of all why didn't I get a letter informing me that I needed to go in with more info and 3rdly, I know for a fact that I gave them more than enough I.D.
I rang them to ask what was going on and the payment that got cancelled was actually the health care card. I also asked them what info they didn't have, she said all she had was a photocopy of my birth certificate, I was absolutely furious because I know full well that the woman I had a meeting with photocopied my drivers license, medicare card, bank card, rental agreement, marriage certificate and birth certificate. I also showed her more documents ie, tax file number and notice of assesment, bank statement and 2 bills with my current address. I made sure I was prepared because many times I gave been asked in because they have lost documents. Anyway I spoke to someone at the complaints department and he made it out like it was my fault. It actually concerns me a little, if they are taking copies of our documents, and it doesn't show on the system, well what's happening with them and whose hands are they in.
They told me that if I want the health care card again, I have to go in and give all my documents again. Well stuff that, I am not wasting my time for a health care card that is rarely going to get used anyway.

The separation and upcoming divorce seems to have gotten rid of my annoyances.... ;D I can totally understand that Parker. It is traumatic at the time, but the freedom it allows and sense of peace is a good one xx

Agreed....plus, I'm the only one who can put me down and while at times I think me a silly old bird, I'm just not all those terrible things I was told I was for years....it is refreshing to be in control of your opinion of yourself.... ;D

Yes i totally understand, although my ex never put me down, when he had his first affair it turned me into a paranoid mess. However, it turns out after I found out about the 2nd affair I realised it was him with the problem and not me. You enjoy yourself and your life Parker xx

I didn't even think you could get a receipt for that. I know you can get a reference number though, not that, that would have helped.

I would write out a list of all documents handed over and ask the receiver of the documents to sign for them. Ask them to photocopy the signed list and allow them to keep the original.
