Thanks for the welcome. I've been following some of Chips' postings on another forum and thought I'd like it here, too. I'll introduce myself later.

Thanks again for the welcome. I promised a brief introduction. I live in the beautiful Commonwealth of Kentucky in the US. My wife and I live in the middle of a large woodland tract where we built our own house and lived a very self-sufficient life for many years. More recently, we have taken up cruising on a sailboat and spend the winter in the tropics. I like to discuss religion and social issues. I like photography, food, cooking and travel. I've never been to Australia but have had the pleasure of meeting many Australians when cruising.

What sort of house did you build?

Glad to have you cheik!
I have missed you.
Folks cheik goes off sailing for a couple of months every winter. ( lucky duck)
Last year cheik had a wonderful blog about his sailing adventures. Complete with locations, details about wonderful meals he and his wife shared and lovely vista's and pictures.
Lets all say pretty please and see if we can't talk cheik into a link to his sailing blog for global village this year.
