Glazed Spicy Corned Beef 1 corned beef brisket, about 7 to 8 pounds 2 onions, peeled, quartered 2 bay leaves 1 stick of celery 1 carrot 1 teaspoon salt 1/4 teaspoon black pepper 1 clove garlic, halved 3 whole cloves 1 table spoon of pickling spice Mustard Glaze 1/2 cup brown sugar 1 tablespoon prepared mustard of your choice Put corned beef in a large Dutch oven or soup kettle; add water to cover. Add onion wedges, celery, carrot, pickling spice, bay leaves, salt, pepper, garlic, and whole cloves. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; cover and simmer gently for about 4 hours, or until corned beef is tender. Remove corned beef from cooking liquid and allow to cool. Mix mustard and sugar to a paste and coat the beef all over - cook in a pre-heated oven for 15 -20 minutes slice and serve with vegetables of your choice. Corned beef recipe serves 10 to 12. Left over corned beef is delicious served cold on sandwiches.

Funny... I was told garlic keeps your nose wet and your coat shiney.......... Leave the garlic out.
I thought about this recipe since I posted it. The next time I'll forget the mustard and sugar coating and try this.
Coat outside of beef with honey and roll in cracked black pepper and then place in oven.
Should come out like pastrami which is delicious hot or cold.
